Meeting of Kazakhstan’s Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova with the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana Ambassador György Szabó

During the meeting the sides discussed the current state and trends of Kazakhstan’s cooperation within the OSCE. The Secretary of State noted that the implementation of the Astana Declaration Towards  Community of Security, adopted at the OSCE Summit in Astana in 2010, is the keynote of Kazakhstan’s activities.

G.Abdykalikova underscored that the up and running operating principle of working with the OSCE Programme Office in Astana is the example of the organization’s intensification on the spot. In particular, the Secretary of State has been encouraged by the project preparation process and the overall planning with the government and the coordinating role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2016 Kazakhstan's concerned state bodies are successfully implementing 50 joint projects with the OSCE.

G.Abdykalikova noted that in preventing international, local and religious conflicts that threaten today's security especially important is the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev’s Manifesto Peace. XXI c., which calls for building the conflict-free world with unfailing supremacy of international law.

Also, the Secretary of State informed the guest about the progress of the nation's plan to implement the five institutional reforms and activities concerning celebration of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence. G.Abdykalikova noted that during the years of independence the economy has strengthened, incomes increased, and the Kazakh society is seen as a model for national harmony and social stability, as well as Kazakhstan has succeeded as a responsible and respected international partner.

In turn, the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana thanked Kazakhstan’s Secretary of State for the warm welcome and expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation with the OSCE Kazakhstan.

The parties also discussed the OSCE's involvement in EXPO-2017 international exhibition in Astana.

At the end of the meeting Secretary of State wished György Szabó success in strengthening dialogue and mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and the OSCE.
